Barkha Trehan Kochhar
Ms. Barkha Trehan Kochhar pursued her B.A. LLB.(H.) from National Law University, Lucknow & LL.M. from The Indian Law Institute, New Delhi. She holds dual specialization in the areas of Criminal Law and Human Rights. She holds a keen interest in the areas of Constitutional law & Jurisprudence. A former founding faculty member at the Sardar Patel University of Police, Security & Criminal Justice, Jodhpur (Rajasthan), she has been teaching as Assisstant professor at Vivekananda School of Law & Legal Studies (VSLLS), Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) since July 2015. She has so far taught Substantive Criminal law, as also Law of Torts, Legal Research & Methodology, Consumer Protection & Property Law. She has worked as a member (Faculty) in various committees of Law School such as Legal aid committee, Court Diary and Internship committee, Central audit committee and Cultural committee. With some newspaper articles and journal articles to her credit, the latest addition to her work is her article titled ‘Influence of subconscious elements in the judicial process: Problems & Perspectives’ in Vivekananda Journal of Research (January-June 2018 edition.) Having some great participations in the National and International conferences, she holds a good exposure to field work owing to her varied internships at Courts, law firm and NGO’s.
