
Dr. Avinash Kumar
Dr. Avinash Kumar is Assistant Professor (Law) at Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies-Technical Campus, GGSIP University, New Delhi. He did his B.A. Hons. (Political Science) [2011], LL.B. [2014] and LL.M. [2016] from University of Delhi and Ph.D. [2020] from the Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, for which he received the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Doctoral Fellowship. The topic of his Ph.D. is ‘Analysis of Present Problems in India’s International Investment Agreements and its Right to Regulate Foreign Investments.’ He is UGC-NET qualified.
He has three years of teaching and research experience. He has published several papers in research journals of national and international repute. He is working on a minor project where he is conducting empirical research on mental health issues among stakeholders of Legal education.
Formerly, he was elected as the President of Law Centre-I Students Union (2013-14). He is a life member of ICPS and All India Law Teachers Congress. He contributed in organizing more than five seminars, guest lectures etc. as Convenor and Co-Convenor. Recently, on the 3rd and 4th November 2022, he contributed in organising National Seminar on ‘Women’s Police Station’ in collaboration with National Commission for Women. He is also contributing in organising National Seminar on ‘Law and Environment@75’ in association with ICSSR on 23rd and 24th February 2023. He has been invited to judge several moot court competitions.
