Kusum lata Bawlia teaches Labour Law-1 and Indian Contract Act, 1872. She served Faculty of Law, University of Delhi for 6 years before  joining VSLLS. She taught a wide range of subjects like Family Law, Property Law, Commercial transactions, Environmental Law and Alternate  Dispute Resolution Systems (ADR).

She was a member of Legal Services Clinic of Law Centre -1(Faculty of Law in collaboration with DSLSA). She Acted as Convenor Legal Services Clinic in the session 2017-18. She Acted as a member of Family Welfare Committee, Constituted under the direction of the Supreme Court in the Rajesh Kumar Sharma and others v. .State of U.P and others. AIR 2017 SC 3869. She has taught in Geeta Institute of Law, Sambalkha Panipat (HR) affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and Ashoka Law College, Kathua (Jammu) affiliated to Jammu University. 

Kusum  earned her LL.B and LL.M from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra She is pursuing her Ph.D. on the topic Hindu Women’s Right To Poperty: A Socio Legal Study. She got her articles published in International and National Journals on the issues of family disputes. She attended various seminars, conferences and presented papers.
