4th Intra (Virtual) Debate Competition, 2021
On 12th March 2021, Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies (VSLLS), VIPS organized its 4th Intra (Virtual) Debate Competition for the first-year students of VSLLS the topic being “The House Believes That Online Learning mode exposes India’s Great Digital Divide”. The competition was adjudged by the alumni of VSLLS, Advocate Ms. Gunjan Arora, accompanied by Advocate Mr. Angadbir Singh. Prof. Dr. Rashmi Salpekar, Dean VSLLS graced and initiated the event with her words of wisdom and motivation.
The participants, invited to debate their stance, highlighted intricate issues like the lack of digital facilities, the need for digital awareness, how pandemic shifted the mode of learning, the digital divide between the urban and the rural society, comparison with different developed & developing countries. The competition lasted for about five hours. A total of thirty-four students participated. The event was well coordinated by the debate co-ordinators students (Vritti Gulati, Jahnvi Sharma, Ishita Tripathi, Nitya Tandon, Prerna Dhingra, Pritthish Roy, Astha Dhawan, Aritra Chatterjee) and the faculty members (Ms. Lovleen Sharma, Ms. Chitwan). The event concluded with some insightful remarks from the judges and the event Convenor, Ms. Deepa Kaushik. The event panned out to be a great learning experience for both the participants and the team.
