
Rumi Roy
Ms. Rumi Roy, an expert in the field of Political Studies with specialisation in Indian Government and Politics and International Relations, joined Vivekananda School of Law and Legal Studies, Vivekananda Institute of Professional studies as an Assistant Professor. She earned her Masters and Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Delhi University. She completed her M.Phil from Jawaharlal Nehru University and is currently pursuing her PhD from Centre for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.
Her area of research includes Ethnic minorities, Peace and Conflict Studies, Citizenship and Constitution of India, Migration issues with special reference to North- east India. She has authored several research papers and chapters in renowned National and International journals and publications. She has been invited as a speaker in several National and International conferences/seminars.
She has participated in workshops conducted by IIT Delhi, and WISCOMP. She has represented VIPS in workshops conducted by SAMPURNA UN Habitat, 2017 and conference by National Green Tribunal in collaboration with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) in 2016. As a social worker her contribution lies with her association with the Society for Enhancement of Welfare Activities in Assam.
She has been the Faculty Coordinator of VIPS Magnum Con-cilium since 2015. At VSLLS, she is the Faculty Coordinator of Training and Skill Development in Legal Drafting and Office Management, Organising Member of the Lecture Series ‘PARICHAY’ and DRCC. She is also the member of Centre of Excellence for International Law and International Relations, and Library Committee.
